Nutiden is an unspun yarn produced by Höner och Eir, a small Swedish mill committed to minimal processing. Made from 100% Swedish wool, each plate is gently washed without bleach, spin oil, or added chemicals, leaving the fibre lanolin-rich, earthy, and soft with a natural hand. The dark moss green and olive colourway carries the muted, grounded tones that unspun Swedish wool does particularly well, and yields approximately 530 metres per 100 g.
Held double, Nutiden is well suited to relaxed sweater construction — raglan pullovers, drop-shoulder designs, and cable-textured knits all benefit from its warmth-to-weight ratio and the rustic depth that an unspun structure brings. Double-stranded projects such as a Chloe Sweater or a beginner-friendly Wayfarer Raglan are natural fits, as is pairing with a silk mohair or laceweight yarn for blended single-strand work. Experienced unspun yarn knitters can also work it single-stranded for lighter garments and accessories.
These plates are offered as part of a studio destash and are available individually or in sweater quantities of approximately 490 g or more. As with all natural wool, minor plant matter or wool residue may be present, and the first wash should be gentle — a splash of vinegar in the rinse water is recommended. Each plate is individually weighed and priced accordingly.
