Wayfarer KAL 2025

September 1 – December 1, 2025

The Wayfarer KAL 2025 invites knitters worldwide to join three months of focused making with the Wayfarer Collection. Knit at your own pace, share your progress, and take part in the prize draws.

How to Join

The primary base for the KAL is Instagram – that’s where posts, tags, and Finished Objects count for the prizes.

– Post with #WayfarerKAL2025
– Tag @ulvenknit in your caption or photo

For an extra entry:
– Create a Ravelry project tagged WayfarerKAL2025
– Mention your Ravelry name in your Instagram post, or comment on the official IG announcement

For those who’d like more conversation, there will also be a Ravelry group and a Discord channel dedicated to the KAL. Ravelry and Discord links will be shared here once live.

Eligibility

– Posts and projects must be created on or after September 1, 2025
– Older or recycled entries do not qualify
– Finished Objects must be posted by December 1, 2025
– To be considered for the Yarn Prize, entries must include both #WayfarerKAL2025 and #WayfarerKAL_Yarn, and tag @ulvenknit

The Grand Prize

One winner will receive

– Awarded by random draw among Finished Objects posted with #WayfarerKAL2025 and tagged @ulvenknit by December 1

The Yarn Prize

One winner will receive
– Eight plates of Icelandic Plötulopi in ivory beige – a full sweater’s worth, and perhaps more
– Plus one digital pattern of choice from the Unspun Yarn Patterns collection (delivered via ulvenknit.com or added directly to the winner’s Ravelry library)
– Bonus prize available in eligible regions: EU, wider Europe (including Iceland, UK, Switzerland, Norway, and more), Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan

FAQ

Can I use an existing WIP?
Yes, as long as it is unfinished by September 1, 2025.

Do I need a public Instagram to join?
Yes. KALLs are community events and Instagram is the primary hub and you need to publicly share your projects with the correct tags, otherwise you are not eligible. Ravelry and Discord are optional community spaces.

Can one person win multiple prizes?
No. Each participant can only win one prize. If a name is drawn twice, a redraw will take place.

Do US knitters qualify?
Yes – US participants are eligible for all digital prizes. Due to current customs restrictions, the yarn prize cannot be shipped to the US.

Which regions are eligible for the Yarn Prize?
The yarn prize is limited to regions with reliable customs and shipping: EU, wider Europe (Iceland, UK, Switzerland, Norway, and more), Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

Can I enter multiple projects?
Yes, each project counts separately if posted with the correct hashtags and within the KAL dates.

How are winners selected?
Prize draws are random unless otherwise specified. Photo prizes are chosen by the host based on creativity and atmosphere.
