Oakwood Raglan

The Oakwood Raglan is a bottom-up raglan sweater knitting pattern with a classic, well-proportioned silhouette and a beautifully textured all-over surface. The standout feature is an openwork cable pattern that alternates with ribbing — worked entirely without a cable needle — creating a fabric with ample stretch and a sculptural, organic quality reminiscent of oak bark and twisted branches. The cable is enjoyable to knit and easy to memorise after just a few repeats.

Because the cable and rib combination gives the fabric significant horizontal stretch, the Oakwood Raglan works well both at the recommended positive ease and at minimal ease, offering flexibility in fit without altering the construction. The pattern is written for worsted weight yarn and is particularly well suited to unspun wool, where the textured stitch pattern benefits from the natural loft and depth of the fibre.

Available in English as a digital PDF download, with detailed instructions and clear charts suited to intermediate knitters comfortable with textured stitch patterns and raglan shaping.

This pattern is designed for 6-16 cm/ 2.25-6.25 in of positive ease. With greater discrepancies in upper chest and full chest measurements, I recommend going with the upper chest measurement.
