High Peak Sweater

The High Peak Sweater is a top-down stranded colourwork yoke sweater knitted in the round in aran weight unspun yarn.

The yoke carries a bold, graphic pattern of stylised mountain peaks and suns – a design that draws on the visual language of Nordic and Icelandic knitwear while maintaining its own distinct identity. The colourwork is contained within the yoke, with the body and sleeves worked in clean stockinette, giving the finished sweater a balanced, focused aesthetic. The geometric chart repeat is clear and logical once the pattern is established, and working in unspun yarn adds a warmth and natural loft to the finished fabric that suits the mountain-inspired character of the design.

The aran weight construction and circular yoke method make the High Peak Sweater a rewarding project for intermediate knitters with some experience in stranded two-colour knitting. Detailed pattern instructions, a full colourwork chart, and a size guide are all provided, making this a well-supported project for anyone wanting to explore yoke colourwork in a substantial, wearable sweater. The High Peak Sweater is also included in the Year 2 Anniversary Knitting Pattern Bundle.

Please choose a size 10-25 cm larger than your actual chest circumference. For reference: the sample in the photos is in size 2 with 11 cm positive ease.

This pattern includes 9 unisex sizes.
