Manchelopi is a soft, squishy unspun yarn made from 100% Manchega wool, sourced from a small Spanish family company (Wooldreamers) that puts a lot of heart into their work. It has a dreamy texture with plenty of squish and bounce — and the plates really do look like little cheese wheels — which makes it a rare and special treat to knit with.

Originally, I got these gorgeous shades for my Karo Sweater design… but I overshot by far and ended up using less than a plate of each. (If you're interested in the partial plates left over from that project, those are available too.)

As for thickness, it depends on how you work it. If you knit with the two strands held together — which is the more beginner-friendly option and easier, since Manchelopi plates already come double-stranded — you're looking at roughly 230 m / 100 g (DK weight). But if you're confident enough to go with a single strand, you’ll get around 460 m / 100 g (Fingering weight).
