The Wayfarer Cardi V is the third design in the Wayfarer Collection — a series of accessible, contemporary knitwear patterns for everyday wear from Ulven Knit. Like its predecessors, this beginner-friendly cardigan knitting pattern is worked top-down in one piece using a classic raglan construction, with subtle lifted increases that shape both the yoke and the neckline as the work progresses. The relaxed fit and timeless silhouette make it a reliable wardrobe staple across a range of skill levels.

The pattern offers two button band options — a traditional ribbed band for a clean, classic finish, or a double-knit band for a more structured and polished edge. Designed for worsted-weight yarn and well suited to unspun wool such as Nutiden from Höner och Eir, the Wayfarer Cardi V is an ideal project for knitters looking for a satisfying, straightforward raglan cardigan that knits up quickly and fits beautifully from the first cast-on.

Please choose a size that is 12-20 cm/ 4.75-7.75 in larger than your actual chest circumference. For best results, please view the table and schematic (pages 4 and 5) to review the measurements at other body points. With greater discrepancies in upper and full chest measurements, I recommend going with the upper chest. Ease: Sample 2: 19 cm/ 7.5 in, Sample 1: 30 cm/ 11.75 in.

3.5 mm (US 4) and 4.5 mm (US 7) 60-120 cm/ 24-47 in circular needles and/or DPNs. Optional: 4.0 mm (US 6) for the double knit button-band.
