FIR AND FERN is a circular yoke sweater with a relaxed fit and simple colourwork detail. The sweater is knitted from the bottom up in the round, the sleeves are knitted separately and then joined with the body on a long circular needle. The sweater is then shaped with German short rows.

Six unisex sizes cover a finished chest circumference from 92 to 129 cm. The colourwork palette calls for a main colour and two contrast colours, with quantities varying by size and colourway. A gauge of 13 stitches and 18 rounds per 10 cm in stockinette, worked on 6 mm needles, gives the fabric its characteristic open, rustic texture associated with Lopi-style knitting.

It suits knitters comfortable with bottom-up yoke construction who want a straightforward Lopi sweater with a quiet colourwork accent.

For a relaxed fit choose a size 10 - 15 cm larger than your actual chest circumference.
