    The WAYFARER RAGLAN is the first entry in the WAYFARER COLLECTION, a collection of simple garments designed for effortless everyday wear. With its classic raglan silhouette and relaxed fit, it serves as a versatile wardrobe staple. The seamless top-down construction makes it beginner-friendly and an excellent introduction to knitting with unspun yarn. Neck and shoulder shaping are achieved with German short rows, while the yoke is subtly contoured with lifted increases for a balanced fit. Comprehensive instructions guide you through every step, from shaping the shoulders to finishing the sleeves, ensuring a structured yet intuitive knitting process.

    Originally published in 2023, the WAYFARER RAGLAN was fully revised and re-released in 2024. This updated version refines the simplicity and contemporary style of the original while enhancing fit, usability, and accessibility. The grading has been overhauled for greater size inclusivity, and newly added schematics with detailed measurements help you choose the right size with confidence. Updates to the pattern writing and layout improve clarity and navigation, making for a smoother knitting experience. Newly tech-edited and test-knit, this version ensures accuracy and ease of use, delivering a polished and refined knitting experience.

    This pattern is designed for 12-22 cm/ 4.75-8.75 in of positive ease. With greater discrepancies in upper chest and full chest measurements, I recommend going with the upper chest measurement. The samples in the photos are in size 2, shown with 19 cm/ 7.5 in positive ease.

    The provided meterages/ yardages (yds approx. due to rounding) already include a safety margin. However, please note that your individual yarn consumption may vary based on your yarn, gauge, size, and the desired sleeve/body length. It is advisable to get a little more than you think you’ll need.

    YARN SUBSTITUTES

    Any aran to worsted weight yarn that meets the gauge, unspun yarn held double or a combination of DK + lace weight yarn.

    For best results, use lightweight, lofty yarns rather than heavy, dense ones, as the latter may affect both fit and feel.

    NEEDLES 

    3.5 mm (US 4) and 4.5 mm (US 7) 60-120 cm/ 24-47 in circular needles and/or DPNs.

    NOTIONS

    Stitch markers, stitch holders, a tapestry needle, measuring tape, and scissors.
