(Natt)Mörker – Nutiden Yarn Destash (Studio Clearance)

(Natt)Mörker (December 2024) is one of the special end-of-year colourways offered alongside siblings under the "Darkness and Light" theme. Every year, Mörker (Darkness) and Ljus (Light) change their appearance (colour).

2024 was special because there were several variants, and Natt-Mörker—which literally translates as "Night-Darkness"—is one of them. It is a stunning colour that you'll love—if you’re into purple! I wanted to love it, and I do find it incredibly soft and beautiful, but purple simply doesn't suit me or my colour scheme. In some lights, it looks almost black; in others, it reveals a very deep, dark purple. It’s not only visually striking but also wonderfully tactile!

It is perfect for holding single-stranded work, pairing with another lace-weight yarn (depending on the amount available), or incorporating into colourwork. It would make a great contrast colour in my newly released Wolf Winter!

This yarn is part of my Studio Clearance Event, where I’m offering select colourways from my designer’s stash of Nutiden. Some are extras from past designs, others didn’t make it into a sample — but all deserve new homes to be knit, worn, and loved. 

Yarn Info

Nutiden is an unspun yarn made by Höner och Eir (@honerocheir) — a small Swedish mill known for its lanolin-rich, minimally processed unspun wool and fibres.

• 100% Swedish wool, unspun, gently washed
• No bleach, spin oil, or chemicals used
• Lanolin-rich, earthy, soft with a light hand
• Approx. ~530 m / ~580 yds per ~100 g (personal design estimate)
• Plates naturally vary in weight — check item variations for exact grams
• Offered as part of my studio destash, available as individual plates or bundled in 'sweater quantities' (~490+ g)
• Some plates are unused and intact. Others are partial but still unwound — meaning untouched and just at a lower weight.

Suggested Use

Nutiden is versatile and works beautifully for:

• Double-stranded sweaters, like the Chloe Sweater or the beginner-friendly Wayfarer Raglan
• Textured knits, such as Oakwood Raglan or Before Fall Sweater, for squishy cables
• Colourwork projects, from beginner Barren Land to the full-colourwork Heritage Sweater
• Single-stranded garments and accessories (best for experienced unspun yarn users)
• Pairing with silk mohair, like in the Soft Spoken Sweater, or with laceweight yarns for custom blends

Nutiden has an exceptional warmth-to-weight ratio, making it ideal for oversized garments and natural-feeling textures.

 Please Note:

• Natural colourways may contain small bits of plant matter or wool residue
• Some pigmented shades may lightly stain fingers during knitting or bleed slightly in the first wash
• Always hand-wash gently — a little vinegar in the first rinse is recommended
• Photos show one full plate per colourway, not each individual item
