The Chloe Tee is a modified drop-shoulder summer tee knitting pattern with a relaxed, boxy, and slightly cropped silhouette — designed to be the kind of everyday knit you reach for without thinking. The drop-shoulder construction keeps the knitting straightforward while the proportions give the finished tee a contemporary, versatile feel that works as a layering piece or a standalone top across the warmer months.

Worked in fingering weight yarn, the Chloe Tee is a lightweight, breathable warm-weather project suited to confident beginner and intermediate knitters. The simple stitch structure makes it an accessible starting point for those newer to garment knitting, while the refined proportions ensure it remains genuinely wearable well beyond the learning curve.

This pattern is designed with 6 cm/ 2.25 in positive ease. With greater discrepancies in upper chest and full chest measurements, I recommend going with the upper chest measurement. The samples in the photos are in size 2 with 6 cm/ 2.25 in positive ease.

You can choose from 9 unisex sizes, with finished bust circumferences of:

  • 80, 90, 99 110, 120, 130 {139, 149, 160} cm | 31.5, 35.5, 39 43.25, 47.25, 51.25 {54.75, 58.75, 63} in

to fit upper bust of:

  • 74.5, 84, 94.5 102, 108, 115 {122.5, 130, 137.5} cm | 29.25, 33, 37.25 40.25, 42.5, 45.25 {48.25, 51.25, 54.25} in

and full bust of:

  • 74, 84, 93 104, 114, 124 {133, 143, 154} cm | 29.25, 33, 36.50 41, 45, 48.75 {52.25, 56.25, 60.75} in.

A schematic with comprehensive measurements is included in the knitting pattern. 

RECOMMENDED YARN (Fingering)

The CHLOE TEE is designed for Saona yarn from Wooldreamers, a wonderfully soft and bouncy blend of Spanish traceable wool and Andalusian cotton with a touch of rustic character. However, you can easily substitute the recommended yarn with any suitable heavy fingering weight yarn of your choice.

Wooldreamers - Saona (50% Traceable Wool, 50% Andalusian Cotton, 50 g=220 m/ approx. 240 yd) - colourways ‘Sarichef’ (sample 1) and ‘Guthrie’ (sample 2):

  • Meters: 590 (660) 740 (825) 895 (985) 1050 (1155) 1240
  • Yards: 645 (720) 810 (900) 980 (1080) 1145 (1265) 1360

The provided meterages/ yardages already include a safety margin. However, please note that your individual yarn consumption may vary based on your yarn, gauge, size, and the desired sleeve/body length. It is advisable to get a little more than you think you’ll need.

YARN SUBSTITUTES

To achieve a comparable result to the original design, choose yarn that is of similar fiber content and structure as the recommended yarn. However, you can also achieve great results by using different yarns. NEEDLES 

3.0 mm (US 2.5) and 2.5 mm (US 1.5) circular needles and/or DPNs, 60-120 cm/ 24-47 in.
