Plötulopi is an unspun yarn from Ístex that comes in ~100 g / ~300 m plates (each plate naturally varies in weight, typically between 100 and 128 g). Icelandic yarn is perfect for outdoor wear thanks to the natural weather-resistant properties of Icelandic sheep’s wool.

If you find regular, spun Icelandic wool a bit scratchy, you might love unspun—it's much softer and has an incredible warmth-to-weight ratio, allowing you to create oversized garments that feel as light as a feather. You can hold two strands together, pair a single strand with silk mohair, or hold three strands for the equivalent of a bulky-weight yarn.
